This project was “putting lip stick on a pig” and all involved agreed including the owner.
The problem: Extremely high-water table and trying to utilize the space that was designed to be unconditioned as a condition space. This old home was sitting on a foundation wall of sorts that was sitting on a slab of sorts, no footing. Several attempts to stop or control the seeping ground water into the cellar had been made from the inside with no success. HVAC equipment and service lines had been installed in the cellar as upgrades to the old hose but due to the high moisture content in the space condensation was forming leading to unwanted organic growth. Our scope of work was to grind out large cracks and fill with sealant, skim coat over rock pockets and surface cracks with quick set mortar, install Urethane Base Waterproofing and a Protection Mat.
